Explains how OkayCab collects, uses, and protects a Host's personal information. Owned & Operated by OkayCab, a Partnership Firm (Partners: Shivam Kumar, Ayush Verma, Prince Yadav, Nigam Yadav).
1. Information We Collect
As per the Host Terms & Conditions, OkayCab collects only: Driving Licence, Vehicle RC, Aadhaar Card, Mobile Number, and Email ID, along with Vehicle Details. In addition, the Platform collects:
Live GPS location during active use of the App and while a Ride is in progress.
Trip history — pickup/drop points, route, distance, duration, Fare.
Wallet, Commission, Coin, and earnings-withdrawal transaction records.
Device information — device ID, IP address, OS/app version, crash logs.
In-app communication with Riders (call/chat logs, for safety) and with Customer Support.
2. How We Use It
To verify identity and vehicle details at onboarding and enable registration on the Platform.
To match the Host with Riders and facilitate booking and completion of Rides.
To calculate Fares, deduct Commission, process Wallet transactions, Coins, and earnings withdrawal.
To ensure Rider and Host safety, including reviewing complaints and safety incidents.
To send service updates, policy changes, and respond to Support queries.
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful government/law-enforcement requests.
3. Location Data
Location access is essential to OkayCab's core functioning. During an active Ride, the Host's live location is shared with the matched Rider and may be recorded for trip-history, safety, and support purposes. Disabling location access will materially limit the Host's ability to receive and complete Rides.
4. Sharing of Information
With the matched Rider: name, photo, vehicle number, contact number, live location — only to coordinate that specific Ride.
With payment partners (e.g., Razorpay) solely to process Wallet recharge and earnings-withdrawal requests.
With law-enforcement/government authorities where legally required, or to protect User safety.
In a business transfer (merger/acquisition), subject to this Privacy Policy continuing to apply.
The Company does not sell a Host's personal information to third parties for independent marketing use.
5. Data Security
The Company applies reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, secure servers — to protect Host data. No method of transmission/storage is 100% secure, and the Company cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
Host information is retained while the account is active, and thereafter for the period required for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Details specific to account closure are set out in the separate Host Account Deletion Policy.
7. Host Rights & Choices
Access and update profile information directly in the App.
Request a copy of personal data, correction of inaccurate data, or account deletion by contacting Support/the Grievance Officer.
Opt out of promotional communications while continuing to receive essential transactional notices.
8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The App/Website may use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyse usage.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18. The Company does not knowingly collect data from minors, and will delete any such data if discovered.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. The revised version will be posted on the App/Website with an updated Effective Date; material changes may additionally be notified in-app or by email.
